Travel notes & practical advice

Dominican food and accessible dining on holiday

Enjoy Dominican food with practical checks for restaurant entrances, wheelchair table space, bathrooms and return transport.

Make room for local flavours

A meal can be the main event of a relaxed outing. Look for a menu that lets your group try Dominican dishes at its own pace, whether that means a simple lunch or an evening reservation. Ask the restaurant about ingredients and preparation if anyone has a dietary requirement; dish names alone do not establish suitability.

Check more than the front door

Ask whether the entrance has steps, how wide the route to the table is and whether a wheelchair can remain comfortably at the table. Check the bathroom route separately. A terrace may have a different entrance or surface from the indoor dining room.

Plan a restaurant visit from a resort

Give the transport team the exact restaurant, reservation name and intended finish time. Agree whether the vehicle waits or returns at a set time. If your group wants to browse nearby shops afterwards, include that in the route rather than leaving the driver to infer it.

Ask for a table arrangement that works

Tell the venue how many diners are coming and the space needed around the chair. A table near the entrance may reduce distance, but check that it does not sit on a slope or block a busy passage. Ask where a companion can sit if assistance is needed during the meal.

Keep the reservation and ride clear

Use our restaurant evening service for a coordinated outing or book transport to a table you already reserved. Meals, drinks and table reservations are separate unless expressly included in the confirmed plan.
