A good day out starts with one good idea
Choose the experience you care about most: a sea view, Dominican food, a cultural stop or time browsing shops. Then build the route around a suitable vehicle, a manageable amount of time away from it and a comfortable place to pause. An activity can be enjoyable without filling every hour.
Coastal scenery without committing to a boat trip
A private coastal outing can focus on a pre-agreed viewpoint or a restaurant with a sea view. Ask where the vehicle can stop, how far the table or viewing point is from the drop-off and whether the surface is firm. If you want time on the sand, plan the beach wheelchair and assistance separately. See our beach-day planning page.
Shopping, cafés and an evening meal
For a shorter first outing, choose a shopping centre or a single restaurant. Confirm the entrance and toilet route with that venue, even when the wider complex has lifts. A fixed collection point is particularly helpful after dinner. Compare half-day shopping, mall visits e restaurant evenings.
Culture with a realistic route
A Higüey cultural outing can be planned around a few stops rather than a long walking tour. For Santo Domingo, discuss the longer travel day and select the historic sights that matter most. Entrance access, paving and toilets need checks for each stop; an attractive destination photograph does not answer those questions.
Already have an excursion reservation?
You can arrange wheelchair transport to an existing activity. Send the operator’s meeting point and return instructions. The ride does not change the access conditions of the activity itself, and tickets or a guide are included only when your confirmation says so.
