Travel notes & practical advice

A practical checklist for an accessible resort holiday

Bring the details that matter: confirmed room features, wheelchair transfer instructions, rental handovers and an outing plan for your Dominican holiday.

Before you reserve the room

Write down the features you rely on every day. Ask for the exact room category, clear doorway measurements and bathroom photographs. Record the hotel’s answer beside each requirement, distinguishing confirmed arrangements from requests still waiting for a reply.

Before you book transport

Use the resort’s full name and reception address. Include the flight number and all passengers and bags. Explain whether you travel in your wheelchair and supply the dimensions needed to choose a vehicle. Book airline assistance separately.

Before your equipment handover

Check the item, dates, rate, accessories and handover time. Arrange any hotel authorization in advance. Meet at the lobby when access is allowed, or at the security gate if it is not. Room delivery is not automatically included. Ask for instructions for the actual item supplied.

Before a day out

Keep the plan realistic: one main activity, a suitable meal or rest stop, and a clear collection point. Confirm surface conditions, entrance access and toilets for the specific venues. If an attraction cannot meet your needs, choose an alternative before committing to the journey.

Keep your documents in one place

Store the latest confirmations offline and share the meeting instructions with a companion. Start with our resort guides, transport booking and mobility and care rentals to put the separate parts together.
