Accessible shore excursions Dominican Republic

Provide the ship name, date, port and required all-aboard time. Tender access, gangways and terminal arrangements are controlled by the cruise line and port. We review the land itinerary separately and do not promise access to a ship or tender. Keep sufficient time for the return and port procedures.

Choose your pace

Tell us which parts of the day matter most: scenic stops, local food, history, shopping or time by the coast. Include the number of companions and whether you travel in your wheelchair. We discuss the order of stops, transfer method, accessible toilet options and the amount of time away from the vehicle before confirming the itinerary.

What we confirm for your itinerary

The proposal identifies the transport arrangement, meeting point, planned stops and any equipment requested. Ask for entrance and toilet details for each venue rather than treating the whole destination as universally accessible. A photo or measurement can be more useful than a general accessible label. If a stop cannot meet your requirements, we will discuss an alternative before you accept the plan.

Weather and changes

Outdoor routes may be affected by rain, heat or sea conditions. Discuss shade, rest breaks and the alternative arrangements in the quote. Admission, meals, guides and personal assistance are included only when the confirmation says so. A suggested itinerary is not an immediate guarantee of tickets or equipment availability.

Request your arrangements

Think through the whole day

Consider the journey from the room to the vehicle as well as the activity itself. Tell the coordinator how much time you normally need for boarding and whether you will remain in the wheelchair during transport. The day should have realistic space for rest, food and bathroom stops. A short distance on a map may take longer when a step-free route is required. Ask for the proposed order of stops so you can identify anything that may not work for you.

Agree who provides assistance

A guide, driver and personal assistant have different responsibilities. Explain which tasks need support, such as pushing a chair over a longer route or assisting with a planned transfer. The booking should identify what has been accepted and what requires a separate person or service. Do not rely on an attraction’s staff to provide lifting or personal care without an agreement. Your comfort and preferences should guide the plan, including when you want to remain with companions.

Review costs and alternatives

Ask whether the quote includes admission, meals, guide services, parking and any equipment needed for the outing. Some attractions require separate availability checks. If a venue cannot confirm an essential feature, consider an alternative stop before accepting the programme. Weather or local operations may affect the planned route, so agree how changes will be communicated and which costs would change. An enquiry saves your requirements for review; it is not an automatic confirmation of every activity mentioned.

Keep the return plan visible

Write down the meeting point and the expected return arrangement, especially when visiting several locations. A hotel return, cruise departure and airport connection have different timing requirements. Tell the coordinator about any onward deadline when requesting the trip. Keep a copy of the final itinerary and a way to contact the team during the outing. If you decide to end the visit early, ask for a revised arrangement rather than leaving the agreed meeting point without notifying anyone.

Share only the details needed for the arrangement

Include your dates, complete location and the features or assistance you need. Keep private medical records and card details out of the general enquiry. The team will explain any additional information required for the specific service before confirmation.

Frequently asked questions

Practical answers to help you plan the next step.

Are all stops step-free?

Access varies by route and venue. Check steps, surfaces, slopes, walking distances, toilets and vehicle boarding in the individual tour details. Ask for confirmation of the points that are essential to your visit.

Can companions and children join the excursion?

Include every passenger and the ages of children in your request or booking. Prices, child seats, vehicle capacity and activity restrictions vary. Confirm the total group before checkout.

When is my booking confirmed?

An enquiry is a request for review. For online bookings, check the successful payment result and written booking confirmation. A declined or pending payment is not a completed paid reservation.

Where can I read cancellation and refund conditions?

Review the booking terms and the conditions shown for your selected service before accepting them. Refunds, cancellation deadlines and changes depend on those conditions; submitting a request does not automatically approve a refund.
